Hovie Creates New Brand Identities for Seattle Icon Ray's

SEATTLE, WA - 03/29/07 - Seattle graphic design firm, Design Hovie Studios, Inc., has designed the new brand identites for the Ray's family of establishments including: the Ray's Corporation, Ray's Boathouse (fine dining restaurant), Ray's Catering, and Ray's Cafe (lively beach pub). Located on the scenic waterfront in the Ballard district of Seattle, the Ray's restaurants have served the region since 1945.

The new brand modernizes the Ray's image without straying too far from its roots. This was something highly desired by the well established company located in one of the most rapidly changing and vibrant areas in Seattle. The new brand also helps to unify all of the establishments under one umbrella by emphasizing the Ray's name, the corporation that oversees the operations of the various companies.

The entire project was a 3 month process designed by Creative Director Hovie Hawk along with Ray's Marketing.

Design Hovie Studios Inc. is an international graphic design boutique based in Seattle, USA, providing graphic solutions for id, print, and identity. Founded in 1998 by Creative Director Hovie Hawk, the studio has operated out of both Seattle and Milan, Italy. With Seattle now its base, the studio continues to maintain a presence in Milan through a working agreement with Qwentes Italia Srl.
